He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Pollock Jones; his parents, Charles Clifton Jones and Sue Brock Jones; his sisters, Sue Jones Miller and Elizabeth Jones Waters; and his brother-in-law David Lawrence Miller.

He is survived by: his sons, Charles Jones, III (Taffy) and Stephen Jones (Tara); his grandchildren, Mathew Jones (Adrienne) of Trenton and Marion Grace Jones of Trenton; and his brother-in-law Leon Waters of Hillsborough, NC.. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jones County Civic Center (832 NC-58, Trenton, NC 28585).
