With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Daniel Merritt Roberts III of Trent Woods, North Carolina, born in New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away on July 9, 2024 at the age of 80. He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel M. Roberts Jr. and Louise Jackson Roberts; his sister Sandra Louise Roberts; and his niece Kimberly Adams Retzer. He is survived by: his wife Octavia Ashford Roberts (Tay); his children, Daniel M. Roberts IV (Kathryn) and Ashley R. Carpenter (Gerald); and his grandchildren, D. Merritt Roberts V, Matthew B. Roberts, Octavia L. Carpenter (Tayleigh), Caroline J. Carpenter and Gerald W. Carpenter III (Jerry).
