She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Mayhew and Pauline Joyce Whitaker; and her brothers, Stephen and Rickey Whitaker. She is survived by: her husband Jose Gonzales of Traphill; her daughters, Paula Jarrett (Jason) of North Wilkesboro, Angie Johnson (Larry) of Bradford and Heather Blackburn (Eddie) of Elkin; her grandchildren, Valerie Ball of Bradford, Matthew Ball of Bradford, Bethany Sammons of Colorado, Raymond Sammons of North Wilkesboro, Kendal Sturgill of North Wilkesboro, Sabrina Royall of North Wilkesboro, Sandra Jarrett of Traphill, Aaron Blackburn of Elkin, Victoria Blackburn of Elkin and Ace Blackburn of Elkin; her siblings, Carol Hudspeth of Asheville and Hubert Whitaker of Greensboro; and her sister-in-law Brenda Whitaker of Hamptonville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
