He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlie Brett and Ruby Mae Billings Cheek; and his wife Daisy Charline Holloway Cheek. He is survived by: his children, Penny Cheek (Larry), Cindy Mastin (Brian) of Elkin, Jimmy Cheek (Lola) of Roaring River and Rocky Cheek (Dottie) of Roaring River; his grandchildren, Dale Cheek, Travis Cheek, Kelly Richardson, Michael Poplin, Bradley Poplin, Casey Poplin, Justin Cheek, Tiffany Cheek, Kayla Kipp and Brooke Blackburn; and his siblings, Rosalee Masks (Bobby) of Roaring River, Peggy Crabbe (Jim) of Roaring River, Kathy Castevens (Dale) of Booneville, Karen Gillis (Kent) of Elkin, Marie Conley of Statesville, Pauline Upright of Statesville, Betty Lou Holloway of Elkin and Ronnie. He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren.
