He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wood and Pheba Durham Wood; his wife Frances Poe Wood; his sons, Richard Wood, Joey Wood and Markeal Wood; his siblings, Henry Wood, Delos Wood, Roger Wood, Rosa Lee Hayes, Dorothy Brown and Ruth Wood; and his granddaughter Allison Wood.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Wood of Traphill, Marty Wood (Kelly) of Traphill and Phyllis Billings (Harvey) of State Road; his brothers, Ranson Wood of Elkin, Bobby Wood (Faye) of Traphill and David Wood (Kathy) of Elkin; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Poe. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
