He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Stevens Holmes, Jr. and Dorothy Singletary Holmes; his brother Benjamin Holmes (Helen) of Traphill; and his nieces and nephews, Harrison Holmes (Alicia), Carter Holmes, Tucker Holmes (Rachael), Priscilla Brawley (Caleb), Victoria Moore (Lane), J. Stovall Holmes, R. Jackson Holmes and B. Ford Holmes.
