He was predeceased by: his parents, Dannah Hayes and Letha Lunsford Hayes; his wife Leona Bauguess Hayes; his son Randy; his stepfather John Hendren; and his brother Glenn Hayes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Hayes of Winston Salem and Angela Hayes of Elkin; his sister Arcille Blevins of Thurmond; and his pets, Jazzy and Brownie.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (615 W Main St, Elkin, NC 28621). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
