He was predeceased by: his parent Oden; and his siblings, Ray, Floyd, Harold Matheson and Aletha George.
He is survived by: his sister Lenora Cottrell; his nephews, Steve, Gary Cottrell, Mike Matheson and Robbie George; his niece Carolyn Hyde; his close friend Terry Postell; and his sister-in-law Bobbie Matheson. He is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
