It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Lou Evans of Topton, North Carolina, born in Cherokee, North Carolina, who passed away on November 5, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertie Hardin and Clara Kelly Hardin; her husband Clifford Evans; and her siblings, Kenneth, Clinton, Carl, Clarence (Bo), Larry (Buggs) and Katherine Hardin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kay Douthit (Roger) of Weaverville, NC and Susie Orr (Kenny) of Nantahala, NC; her siblings, Meredith Higdon (David) of Andrews, NC, Lucille West (Stanley) of Inman, SC and Eddie Hardin (Shirley) of Andrews, NC; her grandchildren, Brady Douthit of Beaufort, SC, Bethany Douthit of Lexington, SC, Travis Orr, Jake Orr and Dylan Orr of Robbinsville, NC; and her great grandchildren, Brayden Douthit and Cooper Orr.
