He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Henry and Vella Mildred Solesbee Bateman; and his brother Robert Bateman. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ann Rowland Bateman; his son Rev. Dean Bateman (Susan) of Nantahala; his grandchildren, Shawn Bateman (Emily) and Elisha Bateman Greene of Nantahala; and his great grandchildren, Ian, Bethany, Caroline, Savannah, Madelyn Bateman, Andrew and Ellie Greene.
The family requests memorials be made in memory of Bert Dean Bateman to the White Oak Flats Mission Fund, 1230 Long Branch Road, Topton, NC 28781.
