He is survived by: his wife Willa Mae Carpenter Wood; his son Randy Wood (Michelle); his grandchildren, Krystal Butler (Josh) and Hollie Bennett; his great grandchildren, Kyara Butler, Hoyt Butler, Cordyn Butler, Fortlyn Butler and Laekyn Bennett; and his siblings, Edna Boothe, Jerry Wood, Larry Wood (Opal) and Steve Wood (Starr). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gentry Family Funeral Service of East Bend (428 E Main St, East Bend, NC 27018). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
