We are sad to announce that on January 27, 2021 we had to say goodbye to James Gray Lawton Sr. of Tobaccoville, North Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Lawton and Percy Lawton of Tobaccoville; his son David Victor Lawton; and his brothers, Kirby, Robert and Jack Lawton.
He is survived by: his significant other Naomi "Nomi" Stewart Lawton of Tobaccoville; his children, Jim Lawton of Holly Springs, Mary Weaver (Curtis) of Raleigh, Mark Lawton (Kim) of Cary and Philip Lawton of Holly Springs; his grandchildren, Jonathan of Lander, Wyoming, Hope of Raleigh, Sarah of Cary, Jennifer (David) of Easley, Victoria of Los Angeles, California and Alyssa of Raleigh; and his sister Ann McGee (Don) of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and multiple special "children".
Those attending the outdoor service will be asked to wear masks and socially distance to the extent possible for the protection of all present.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, an organization long of special interest to the Lawton family, or to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church of Tobaccoville.
