He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Noell Tillett and Sue Bettie Reade Tillett; his wife Janie B. Tillett; and his son John F. Tillett. He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Tillett Scruggs and Mary Ann Tillett McBride; his children-in-law, Gary Scruggs and Amy Smith Tillett; and his grandchildren, Thomas Scruggs (Vanessa), Alexander Scruggs, Reade McBride and Melissa McBride.
