It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Carter of Timberlake, North Carolina, who passed away on October 9, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Clyde Cates and Alma Zimmerman Cates Wilkerson; and her siblings, Beatrice Fogleman, Clydie Cates, Carolyn Cates and Eddie Wayne Cates.
She is survived by: her husband William Cecil Carter; her children, Felicia Michelle Briggs of Timberlake, NC, Triscica Lorraine White of Timberlake, NC and Jonathan Aaron Briggs (Makayla) of Timberlake, NC; her grandchildren, Caitlin Thomas, Cameron Murray, Corey White, Chasity White and Haisley Briggs; her great grandchild Eliana Rivera; her stepchildren, Ronnie Wayne Carter and Melissa Carter; her siblings, Cathy Harris and William Cates (Linda); and her sisters-in-law, Darlene Clayton (Tony) and Katie Clayton. She is also survived by two step-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren.
