He is survived by: his wife Vivian Scott Painter; his children, Stephen Slade (Traci) and Stephanie Slade (Scott); his sister Mary Ann Long; his grandchildren, Trey, Bailey, Ryan and Taylor; and his pets, Cooper and Skeeta Bug. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
