He is survived by: his sons, Johnnie Short of Timberlake and Wayne Short (Lynn) of Rougemont; his sister Bettie Wortham of Oxford; his daughters-in-law, Sherry Bailey Short of Roxboro and Victoria Short of Maryland; and his sister-in-law Panthea Lyons of Oxford. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
