It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Edward Long of Timberlake, North Carolina, who passed away on February 22, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Yearby Long and Willie "June" Wilson; his brothers, Pete Long and Emmitt Long; and his grandson Ryan Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Painter Long; his daughters, Sonja Larry of Timberlake and Lisa Terry (Eddie) of Leasburg; his siblings, Willie "Sweet Pea" Long (Nellie) of Roxboro, Yearby "Red" Long (Mary) of Roxboro and Clara Long Taylor of Roxboro; his grandchildren, Ronnie Lee Smith (Brandi) and Kaitlyn Redd (Kalston); and his great grandchildren, Ila Smith, Kinleigh Reed, Kaisen Redd and Kaislie Redd.
