He is survived by: his spouse Delories Nutt Sherman; his children, Richard D. Sherman Jr. of Timberlake, NC, Ryan Sherman of Greensboro, NC and Rebecca Krauss (Paul Shrier) of Greensboro, NC; his grandson Jacob Krauss of Charlotte, NC; his sister Carolyn Nutt (Billy) of Timberlake, NC; and his brother-in-law John Reade Nutt.
