He was predeceased by: his parent Betty Joan West Scott. He is survived by: his parent Melvin Ray Porterfield; his stepmother Dorothy Porterfield (Sonia Barnett Carver); his daughter Brooklyn Hope Porterfield of Roxboro; his sister Tammy P. Jones (Brad) of Hurdle Mills, NC; his stepson Nate Carver of Guam; his niece Makayla Jones; his nephew Travis Jones; and his stepsiblings, Bob Scott (Kay) of Hurdle Mills, NC, Craig Scott (Nena) of Forrest, VA, Deborah Copeland (Randy) of Efland, NC, Darlene Brown (Danny) of Roxboro, NC and Katy Scarlett.
