He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Jason and Wilma Elizabeth Calloway Small; his wife Ruth Price Small; his children, Curtis William Small and Ellen Small Ishamael; his siblings, Barbara King, Marilyn Eason and Richard Small; and his son-in-law John Ishamael.
He is survived by: his friends, Jenny, Artis and Margaret Gregory; his children, Rhonda Small Combs (Bob) of Richmond, VA and Kelly Small (Amanda) of Timberlake, NC; his grandchildren, Jason Johnson (Nikkitta), Brian Simpson (Luisa), Justin Wolz, Deirdre Wolz and Zach Small; and his brother Gary Small (Jamie) of Kannapolis, NC.. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
