He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Byrd and Elsie Harris Byrd; and his wife Jo Ann Welborn Byrd. He is survived by: his daughters, Becky Martin (Bobby) of Thurmond and Amy Byrd of Hamptonville; his sister June Miller (Lonnie) of State Road; his grandchildren, Brandon Payne (Bridgette) and Andrea Payne; and his close friends, Avery and Louise Settle of Elkin.
