She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Samuel and Verda Marie Cockerham Holcomb; and her husband Roy Grant Lyon. She is survived by: her children, Tracy Crouse of Thurmond and Teresa Crouse Brown (Wilkesboro); her grandchildren, Brandi Mathis (Justin), Eric Crouse (Samantha), Tyler Sanborn (Jessica) and Winston Osborne; her great grandchildren, Natalie, Cadence and Ryland; and her sister Betty Lyon.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Novant Health Stroke Services, Forsyth Medical Center, 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston Salem, NC 27103 or Alleghany County EMS, 40 Cox Street, Sparta, NC 28675.
