He is survived by: his wife Frances Smoot; his children, Debbie Cheek (Roger) of State Road and Chris Smoot (Tonya) of Thurmond; his sister Nora Burcham of Elkin; and his grandson David Smoot (Beth). He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
