She was predeceased by: her parents, Brady Byrd and Vesta Wood Byrd; her husband Truman Leander Roope; her granddaughter Carey Roope; and her siblings, Edith Woods, Vermell Tulbert, Elmer Byrd, Elton Byrd and Reece Byrd.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Wilmoth (Billy) of Traphill, Deborah Higgins (Lonnie) of Thurmond and Norris Roope (Barbara Roope) of Rural Hall; her grandchildren, Heather Williams, Allison Osborne, Denise Reid, Dana Deaton, Michael Higgins, Whitney Higgins and Kayla White; and her siblings, Linda Carol Thiesing of Wilkesboro and Dwight Byrd (Carol) of Hays. She is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
