She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert A. Wyatt and Eva Matthews Wyatt; her spouses, Leroy F. Hill and Lindy Joe Preston; her son Larry F. Hill; her grandson Andrew R. Hill; and her great great grandchild Ella L. Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Robert C. Hill of Thomasville, Randy E. Hill of Mount Airy, Suesan H. Reeves of Sparta and Kathy M. Carreon of Mount Airy.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials in Velda's name be made to a local animal rescue program.
