He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis M. Lane and Cora Moore Lane; and his siblings, Marie Bourgoin, Melton Bourgoin, Joyce Lane, Girlene Davis, Lynn Bourgoin and Geneva Bailey.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita Caswell Lane; his son Michael Lane of Welcome; his siblings, Carroll Bourgoin (Mary), Maxine Bryant (Franklin), Patricia Owens (Phillip), Mae Caswell and Jean Marion (Floyd "Rex"); his grandchildren, Zachary Lacoste and Taylor Lane; and his great grandchild Kayson Lane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church, 4014 Ball Park Road, Thomasville, NC 27360.
