He was predeceased by: his father Robert "R. C."; and his daughter Kim Tillotson. He is survived by: his sons, Rodney Craig Smith (Samantha) of Lexington and Eric Heath Smith (Kelly) of Reidsville; his siblings, Robert Clinton Smith III (Judy) of Winston-Salem, Jeff Smith of Mocksville and Sharon Kay Murphy (Joe) of Advance; his grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Ashlyn Wiseman, Alesha Pilcher, Bo Dunk, Zac Smith, Jake Smith, Megan Smith and Jared Smith; and his great grandchildren, Ava Leonard, Blakely Pilcher and Citra Dunk.
