He was predeceased by: his parents, James Virgil Johnson and Mittie Veigh Kennedy Johnson; and his brothers, Broadus Johnson, Billy Johnson and Wade Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Hunt Johnson; his daughter Karen Johnson Jenkins (Scott); his brother Clayton Johnson (Linda); and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Hunt and Audrey Hunt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Zion UCC Cemetery Fund or Hospice of the Piedmont.
