James Mills wrote a sympathy message

“When I came to work for the Thomasville Police Department in 1981, Wade was one of the first persons I was introduced to by my Lieutenant B.D. Hicks. Did most of my trade there at Pineywood Gulf and I became good friends with Wade. He was also a good friend to others, often donating a few gallons of gas to stranded motorist needing gas to get back to their homes, or loaning gas between paydays. Sometimes it’s the simple things done that folks remember the most and I certainly remember Wade helping others (without credit).”

Tommie Roberts wrote a sympathy message

“Wade was my friend from Howard Street. He was a friend at the service station who always took good of my car. I remember when the station would charge for air for tires, he never let me pay. He would always give me a good price for new tires. I still live on Howard and many times when I pass the empty lot, I think of Wade. He invited me to visit him at the tire place when he moved there. If I remember correctly he was sick at that time. I wish I would have stopped to say hello.”
