He was predeceased by: his parents, Bish Watkins and Ila Haltom Watkins; his wife Mary Lou Watkins; and his siblings, Myrtle, Perline, Clarice, Zelma, Vann and Felix.
He is survived by: his children, Ricky Watkins and Ginger Bethea (David) of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Gina Crayton (Allen Sluder), Aaron Watkins, Thad Watkins (Jan) and Stacey Schombert (Travis); his brother James "Jim" Clark Watkins (Jan); his great grandchildren, Cory Crayton, Skyler, Nick Doss, Miley Hagins, Finlee, Rhett, Landree Watkins, Isla Jolene and Malia Lou Schombert; and his cousins, Jerry, Don, Gene, Claude and Paul.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
