With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Clayton Johnson of Thomasville, North Carolina, who passed away on November 25, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Virgil Johnson and Mittie Veigh Kennedy Johnson; his wife Melinda Carol Rogers (Linda); and his brothers, Broadus Johnson, Billy Johnson, Wade Johnson and Ralph Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughter Lynn Carrick (Chad) of Trinity; his granddaughter Kelly Carrick; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Cecil and Patricia Johnson (Pat); and his nieces and nephews, Darren Cecil (Lisa), Kent Upton (Perry), Kerry Pharis (John) and Karen Jenkins (Scott).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Zion Church Cemetery Memorial Association, 130 Hasty School Rd. Thomasville, NC 27360 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
