She was predeceased by: her parents, George Wilson and Grace Lambert Wilson; her husband James Wesley Hanks; her sons, Jimmy Wayne Hanks and Danny Ray Hanks; and her brother Donald Wilson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Penny Garrett (Jeff) and Janice Gantt; her sister Betty Sechrist; her grandsons, Benjamin Hanks and Wesley Gantt (Rebecca); her great grandchildren, Hayley Forester, Michael Hall, Jacob and James Gantt; and her nephew Ricky Sechrist (Velva). She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
