He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kepley and Dollie Lanning Kepley; his brothers, Elmo Potts, Robert, Jake, Raymond and John Wesley Kepley; and his son-in-law Kelvin Kanoy.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Embry Kepley; his children, Kimberly Kepley Kanoy (Bill Warren) of Thomasville and James Christopher Kepley (Michelle) of Lexington; his grandsons, Kyle Kanoy (Cassie) of Reidsville, Kirk Kanoy (Mary Kate Clegg) of Thomasville and Kolby Kanoy of Thomasville; his stepgrandson Taylor Warren of Salisbury; his great grandchild Kali Enzo Kanoy of Reidsville; his brother Darrell; and his sister-in-law Judy Embry of Thomasville. He is also survived by two sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Memorials may be given to Rich Fork Baptist Church or Hospice of the Piedmont.
