He is survived by: his children, Phillip Jones (Donna) of Lexington, Brian Shipwash (Meredith) of Trinity, Shane Tanner (Stacey) of Thomasville, Richard Lee Hurst (Samantha) of Lexington, Larry Hurst (Leslie) of Virginia, Dawn Jones (Shane) of Troy, Renee Markham (Billy Wayne) of Archdale, Tanya Bristow (Tad) of Asheboro and Diane Hurst of Thomasville; his siblings, Lloyd Keith Jones (Louise) of High Point, Roger Dale Jones (Vickie) of Trinity, Patricia "Pat" Taylor of High Point, Glenda Kay Johnson of Flint Hill and Brenda Gail Whitesell of Glenola; and his grandchildren, Kailee and Addyson Tanner. He is also survived by several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
