He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Vernon Hightower, Sr. and Mae Elizabeth Banner Hightower; and his brothers, Julius Hightower, Herman Hightower and Quincey Hightower.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tosha Hightower of Lenoir, Jessica Worth of Lenoir and Stacy Dula (Derrick) of Chapel Hill; and his siblings, Anthony Hightower of Lenoir, Eric Hightower (Valerie) of Lenoir, Ivey McCorkle of Newton, Lois Mungro of Lenoir and Dallas Harris (Ricky) of Lenoir. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
