She was predeceased by: her mother Cora Effie Leonard Shoemaker; her husband Norman Price Smith (Rick); and her siblings, Garland Shoemaker, O. V. Shoemaker (Red), P. A. Shoemaker, Cora Rachel, Mildred Stewart and Ila Mae Rockett.
She is survived by: her children, Carol Dawn Carter (Timothy) of Thomasville and Norman Kisner Smith (Ricky) of Denton; her grandsons, Patrick Capel Smith of Thomasville, Christopher George Payne (Kelly) of High Point, Andrew Ryan Payne of High Point, Matthew Stewart Payne of Thomasville and Bryan Edward Payne (Erica) of Dubai, UAE; her stepgrandchildren, TJ Carter and TeNae Carter; and her great grandchildren, Savannah Cline (Brad), Joshua Smith, Lyssa Smith and Jaxson Payne.
