He is survived by: his children, Valerie Potter of Winston-Salem, Shelly Beck of Thomasville and Travis Peterson (Janet) of Lexington; his siblings, Steve Peterson, Edward Peterson (Kathy), Frances Wilcox (David) and Elaine Brewer; his grandchildren, Dillon Beck, Logan Beck, Brianna Beck, Sophia Beck, Noah Peterson, Evan Peterson, Joel Peterson, Tiffany Goodman (Joey) and Matthew Potter (Jenny); and his great grandchildren, Holden Goodman and Boden Potter.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Davidson County.
