He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Carson Dorsett Sr. and Bessie Hunt Dorsett; his daughter Karen Mauldin; and his siblings, Eunice Morris, Ruth Hilton Messer, Eddie Dorsett and Thomas Dorsett.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ward Dorsett; his son Alan Ray Dorsett; his son-in-law Dr. Harold Mauldin (Hal) of Reidsville; and his grandchildren, Melissa Anne Mauldin and Kevin McSwain Mauldin.
