She was predeceased by: her parents, Lexie Ray and Alease Ray; and her stepmother Nell Worsley Ray. She is survived by: her husband Joe Bennett; her children, Catherine York (Shell) and Ray Bennett (Angela); her grandchildren, Ben York (Caitlin), Shelley York Rickman (Matt), Kacey Bennett Gustafson (Sean) and Brandon Bennett; her great grandchildren, Graham, Emery York, Davis and Millie Rickman; her sister Judy Ray Brown (Owen); and her sister-in-law Harriet Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be given to First Presbyterian Church, 21 Randolph Street, Thomasville NC 27360.
