She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Hughes and Emma Woodle Hughes; her former husband Ernest Jackson Gill; her daughters, Penny Brown and Patricia Pervez; her brother Larry Hughes; and her grandsons, Matthew Stair, Gavin Hicks and Brian Hicks.
She is survived by: her husband Samuel Earl Embler; her daughter Beverly Stair (Patrick) of Thomasville; and her grandchildren, Jessica Wright of High Point, Joshua Stair (Cassie) of Thomasville, Patricia Smith of High Point, Amanda Stair of Climax and Chasity Hicks of Thomasville. She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Clarksbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Hospice of Davidson County at 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292.
