He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore "Theo" Roosevelt Bowers and Myrtle Lindley Bowers; and his niece Carol Jean Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Craven Bowers; his children, Sherri Bowers Tippett (Dave) of Thomasville, Mike Bowers (Kim) of Thomasville and Scott Bowers of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Corey Bowers of Asheville, Hannah Bowers of Thomasville and Kylie Bowers of Thomasville; his sister Mary "Flexie" Bowers Hughes of Thomasville; his nephew Eric Hughes of Thomasville; and his niece Cheryl Hughes Andreasen of Madison, Wisconsin..
