With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alton Edward Welch (Thomasville, North Carolina), born in Galax, Virginia, who passed away on August 16, 2022 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bishop Welch and Lucy Nance Tussey; his wife Mary Lou Hendren Welch; and his brother Dale Tussey. He is survived by: his daughter Shannon Welch Skeen (Brian) of Trinity; his grandchildren, Katie Rains (Garrett) and Ryan Skeen; his great grandchildren, Jase Simmons, Wrenley Rains and Hollis Rains; his sister Shelby Freeman (Steve) of Lexington; and his nephew Steve Hendren.
