He is survived by: his wife Judy Dickens; his children, Michael Dickens (Emily) of Calabash, Melissa Austin (John) of Thomasville, Gerry Cordova (Rick) of Thomasville and Louanne Tucker (Stephen) of Denton; and his siblings, Doris Boles of Thomasville, Carrie Bumhaur of Archdale, Wanda Alexander of Lexington, Clyde Dickens, Jr. (Carolyn) of Lexington and Charles Dickens (Kay) of Thomasville. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other assorted adopted children and grandchildren.
