He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Newton Jones and Bertha Bernice Studdard; and his brother Newton Lee Jones (Barbara Martin Jones). He is survived by: his grandchildren, Reggy, Gray and Birdie; his wife Becky Pope Jones; his daughters, Megan Jones Calhoun (Ricky) of Taylorsville and Kimberly "Kimmy" Nicole Jones of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Reagan Arcelia Calhoun, Gracyn Ellen Calhoun and Nora Danielle Calhoun.
