He was predeceased by: his parents, Vaughn Bentley and Euwilda Barnette Bentley; and his brother James Bentley. He is survived by: his wife Delories Wike Bentley; his children, Gregory Bentley (Kelly) of Taylorsville and Susan Bentley Bruce of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Amelia Bruce Leicht (Zach), Kennedy Bentley, Chase Bentley and Heath Bentley; his sister Gail Kerley of Taylorsville; his siblings-in-law, Myrna Bentley and Gilbert Wike (Meletia); and also Stephen Dagenhart.

In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Vashti Baptist Church.
