She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruby Catherine Mecimore Barnes and Sam Barnes; and her grandson Richard Paul Tabler. She is survived by: her husband Renn Junior Lackey of Hiddenite; her brothers, Jones Barnes (Rachel) of Taylorsville, J. D. Barnes (Linda) of Taylorsville, Johnny Barnes (Dorcas) of Taylorsville and Wade Barnes of Taylorsville; and her children, Ronnie Lashaw (Karon) of Wilmington, Donnie Lackey (Karen) of Hiddenite, Garry Lackey (Crystal) of Hickory and Sandra Tabler (Richard) of Mooresville. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem Lutheran Church.
