He was predeceased by: his parents, Quez Eugene Richey and Margaret Spence Richey; his stepdaughter Kendall Metts; and his brother William Eugene Richey. He is survived by: his wife Sandy Richey; his stepson Nelson Lee Metts (Kendra); his siblings, Marie Scronce (Joe), Betty Helton (Roy), Ann Sigmon, Brenda Sigmon (Larry), Helen Bowman (Floyd) and Gary Richey (Tootsie); his grandchildren, Kendall Trey Metts and Kandice Farr; and his great grandchildren, Kaydance Nivens, Mackenzie Dameron, Barrett Allen Metts and Brody Abshire. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to Antioch Baptist Church Harry's Hands, 580 Antioch Church Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
