It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Jones Barnes Jr. (Taylorsville, North Carolina), who passed away on February 28, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Jones Barnes and Ruby Mecimore Barnes; his sister Sue Lackey; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Barnes and Dorcas Barnes.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel St. Clair Barnes; his sons, Sammy Barnes (Sandra) and Rodney Barnes (Clara); his granddaughter Chloe Barnes; his brothers, J. D. Barnes, Johnny Barnes and Wade Barnes; and his brother-in-law Renn Lackey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and special friends.
