It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Baker of Taylorsville, North Carolina, born in Alexander, North Carolina, who passed away on May 27, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carris Benfield and Effie Richey Benfield; her husband Kenneth C. Baker; and her brother Allen Benfield. She is survived by: her daughters, Elaine Baker Preslar (Lynn) and Delores Baker Jolly (Shannon); her grandchildren, Casey and Andrea Preslar Smith (Justin); her great grandchildren, Jude Smith, Stella Ruth Smith and Ozzie Preslar; and her siblings, DeRae Lyda and Bruce Benfield (Dot). She is also survived by her children and grandchildren, her church family, friends.
