He is survived by: his son Jeffery; his daughter-in-law Michelle; his wife Brenda Lackey Hartness; his son Jeff Hartness (Michelle) of Hiddenite; his grandchildren, Cortlin Hartness, Heath Pennell and Hunter Hartness; and his brother Dale Hartness (Linda) of Wilkes County. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends; little fat buddies his furry friends.
